SEDATION DENTISTRY
Sedation (Sĭ-dā’shən) – Reduction of anxiety, stress, irritability or excitement.
Whether a broken tooth needs to be fixed, missing teeth that need replacement, or pain that needs elimination, Sedation Dentistry allows you to dream while your dental work is completed. This is an ideal way for anyone who has fear to get the smile they always dreamed of. We have a variety of sedation options available for our patients, including traditional sedation and nitrous oxide sedation.
HERE IS HOW TRADITIONAL SEDATION WORKS
STEP 1: Making your first appointment
This is difficult for many anxious people. Dr. Bauer and her staff make this as easy and smooth as possible.
STEP 2: Welcoming visit
Dr. Bauer gathers information regarding your health and discusses with you your wants and desires. If you are comfortable, she will proceed by taking x-rays and looking into your mouth. But you will never be judged and/or embarrassed.
STEP 3: Preparing for your sedation visit
Dr. Bauer will give you a prescription for a sedative to take the night before your appointment to guarantee a good night’s sleep and to make sure you wake up relaxed.
STEP 4: Arriving for treatment
Your companion will bring you to Dr. Bauer’s office. Additional medications will be provided to create the ultimate in relaxation. Dr. Bauer and her experienced sedation team will monitor you throughout your entire visit.
STEP 5: Going home with your new smile
Your companion will take you home and stay with you until you are completely recovered from your sedation medication.
STEP 6: The next day
Most patients feel no discomfort or residual effects from our dental visit and you will be thrilled with all the compliments you will get.
